Score with a fair-catch kick. If the opposing team catches a punt, they can attempt a field goal with a free kick. Your kicker will kick the ball from where you caught it. It is worth 3 points, which is the same as a field goal. Downs are not timed.

TIP! A wonderful tip when you’re a receiver or running back is to learn to stiff arm. Stiff arms can get you a few extra yards or in some instances completely get you away from a defender.

Always remember teamwork is important. Although it can be difficult if you are the star player, the sport is about the team, not just you. It takes teamwork to win, not just one person. You’re not a good player if you cannot recognize the contributions from your team and accept the fact that teamwork produces better results.

If you play as a receiver, speed is paramount. You should select a very defined and specific running area so you can improve your speed. Just put two traffic cones ten yards away from each other. Try sprinting as fast as possible from the one cone to another while clocking your time. Work hard to beat whatever your best time was. Doing these types of sprints help to increase takeoff speeds.

TIP! To help elevate your stamina and endurance, try shuttle runs. Start at the goal line, then run and tap the 10 yard line.
